The Inheritance and Application of Traditional Wood Decoration in Modern Home Design

Abstract

With a very long history, Chinese traditional residence’s internal wood decoration integrates the great wisdom of the Chinese nation, and it is a "Exquisite Craftsmanship" work for thousands of years after thousands of years of inheritance and development. Its cultural connotation and artistic characteristics have become an important part of modern home design. It is of far-reaching significance to integrate traditional cultural elements into modern home design, carry forward the traditional wood decoration art with unique national characteristics, show the unique artistic charm of Chinese traditional culture, and create a modern home environment with Chinese charm. Taking the inheritance and application of traditional wood decoration in home design as the topic, this paper first defines the inheritance value of traditional wood decoration, and then expounds the application ways of traditional wood decoration from three aspects: traditional wood decoration function and aesthetic appreciation, traditional wood decoration art elements and traditional wood decoration materials and technology, finally, the cases of traditional wood decoration in modern home design are briefly analyzed and summarized.
