This journal has been founded as a produce of the University of Edinburgh/Beijing Institute of Technology Joint Lab of Healthy Space and registered by the Hualin Wells Publishing Group, an international journal publisher (Hong Kong). The website is here: http://www.hwipgl.com/h-col-108.html
Professor Simon Bell, UK Director of the Joint Lab is Chief Editor and Dr Ziwen Sun, Chinese director of the Joint Lab is Managing Editor.
For the first issue of the journal, we propose to invite short papers of between 5000-7000 words from a number of senior researchers from around the world who work in the field of healthy space, broadly defined, from different disciplines. These papers are expected to be opinion pieces with a focus on where each author believes that major research gaps and challenges lie for the field, looking forward for the next decade. This might include the developing or predicted societal challenges facing us; gaps or weaknesses in the evidence base for various aspects of human wellbeing; methodological challenges; architectural, urban planning, landscape architecture and design challenges; urban environmental problems which need more research and so on. Feel free to focus on which of these (or others) you feel to be important and summarise, them, supported by the literature. These perspective short papers will not be peer-reviewed, and while the journal is open access, there will be no article processing charge for the first two issues.
We can accept and publish papers on a rolling basis with the idea of collecting the full edition in early 2025.
